Vanilla Cinnamon Asian Pears

Vanilla Cinnamon Asian Pears

 

Serves 2

 

1/4 cup vanilla sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon homemade vanilla

2 ripe Asian pears, peeled and chopped

splash of Riesling

1 tablespoon cinnamon

 

Place the butter, wine, sugar and pears into a sauté pan over medium-high heat.  Stir to combine and then sprinkle with cinnamon.  Cook on medium until soft.

Cook for about 10-15 minutes.  Remove from heat and add the vanilla.

Serve.

 

This recipe would also go well with apples.  Depending upon the variety you would need to extend the cooking time.  This recipe is a little too sugary and strong for me to eat on it’s own but it goes great over oatmeal or yogurt.
