Brown Rice with Mushrooms


Serves 8-10 (as a side)


1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

1 large onion (about 2 cups), chopped

3 garlic, chopped

4 cups mushrooms, sliced

2 cups brown rice cooked in Beef Broth

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons Worchester


Cook the brown rice according to instructions on the box.  Just instead of water use beef broth.

Add olive oil to a sauté pan.

Over medium high heat, add the garlic and onions.

Sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the mushrooms to the sate pan.

Sauté the mushrooms until they are soft, about 5 minutes.

Add the Worchester, salt and pepper to the mushrooms.

Stir to combine then add the rice.

Add additional salt and pepper to taste.



Nothing fancy here.  Just a simple and hearty side.  Mushrooms are especially good with a nice steak.  I’m making myself hungry!
