Fake fur is definitely in.  I’ve seen scarfs, bags, blankets,pillows, shoes, jackets and vests.  There are a million different ways to wear it.  It can be 70s rocker or 50s pin up.  I’ve seen it everywhere (all of the above from Macy’s) but I was skeptical.  When I think about fake fur, I think about the fake fur coat my mom used to wear in the 80s.  It looked like someone shaved a mutt dog and wrapped it around my mother.  Ugh.  It was so ugly.  I have horribly, vivd memories.  It looked really fake and was never soft like real fur.  It also smelled funny after getting wet.  It never recovered from the first snowfall.  The coat came out about the same time as the film, Harry and the Hendersons so I always thought of my mom as a smelly, wet big foot.  Just shorter.

The fake fur of today is really soft and luxurious.  I had to check the tag on the Michael Kors coat before I would believe that it was actually fake.  It felt that good.  I’m tempted to get one myself.  Too bad I live in southern california and it’s too warm for fur.  Besides it looks funny with my flip flops.  Maybe just the purse . . .
